Newsboy Kid Blink led a group of orphan "newsies" on a two-week strike against some of the powerful newspaper publishers in the late 19th century, including Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst. That became the basis for the fictionalized 1992 movie, "Newsies," and later a Tony Award-winning musical.
This week, Sandy High School Drama opens its production of the show this week, with show times at 7 p.m. on April 18-19 and 24-26. Tickets are $8 for students & seniors, $11 for adults and children under 5 are free. Tickets are available at the door and online.
