"Where does all the money go?"
Good evening, Timberwolves, 💙
I know our PTC Officers get asked this question a lot. They have to say: "it goes to the school," as our PTC doesn't function like a PTA where they have their own bank account and get to choose how they spend their funds raised.
Due to our charter structure, the PTC fundraises literally to keep our program strong.
And this year, thanks to the incredible fundraising from last year (over $70,000!) we were able to be one of the only schools in the Oregon Trail School District that actually ADDED STAFF. And that is what our students needed! Thanks to your fundraising, we now have: more art classes at the middle school, a two-day-a-week counselor, a part-time MS secretary to help with afternoon tasks (three afternoons a week), AND a PYP PE teacher, our very own, Ms. Rachel Ferris!
We welcomed to the team, Ms. Megan Woodworth, our counselor; Ms. Tanya Lescanec, MS secretary; Ms. Rachel Ferris, PYP PE.
I know it has been a long three years as we built our rainy day fund back, but WE DID IT!!! So when you wonder, "where does the money go?" please know that I take my role as steward of OTA's budget very seriously and I will always look towards what our students and teachers need and get them that when I can. Thank you for all your support! I hope you can see it in your curious, engaged, and knowledgeable child(ren).
We are only $900 away from beating our incredible Jog-a-Thon total from last year. Can a business make a tax deductible donation tonight? Write that check out and bring it to Ms. Jen tomorrow morning? Can you call a relative to donate on Zeffy? Let's bring in $900 more to get us there! Don't rely on "someone else will do it" - we're a team!
Thank you, OTA. From the bottom of my heart,
Ms. Hafer, Director
