Posted Date: 2/08/24 (7:38 PM)

新年快乐! Xīnnián kuàilè!  Happy New Year!  🏮🏮🏮  Year of the Dragon 🐲
Important Updates for our School Celebration:
👕Tomorrow: Friday, Feb. 9th -- our LIMITED EDITION Red OTA Spirit Wear celebrating Chinese New Year will be available tomorrow from 7:30-7:45am for purchase in the PYP vestibule.  Shirts are $15 each.  Please bring cash or check (made out to Oregon Trail Academy).  We have Youth: S, M, L, and XL  and Adult: S, M, and L sizes
Here is what they look like:

For those parents who cannot make it in the morning, I have an option for you!  After we finish selling in the morning, I will send a ParentSquare message to all updating on how many sizes we have left.  If you would like to purchase a shirt, respond to the post with a comment: 1) size and 2) student and then pay over at our PayPal account and I will make sure to get your shirt in your student's backpack.

Monday, Feb. 12th: Please wear red on Monday!
Students will get to enjoy a 🥁 Drums and Dragon 🐲 assembly Monday afternoon put on by the Oregon Chinese Coalition.  Big thanks to Ms. Conover for organizing this assembly!  谢谢  Xièxiè  Thank you!
There will be two short assemblies (same show).  If you would like to join us, please sign up below, and I'll have a sign up sheet ready at the door.  Come early for parking and seating.  We also need five volunteers at 1:25pm on Monday to help our guests unload and set up their drums.  Sign up below ✅

First Show: 1:45-2:10pm for Kindergarten-4th grade
Second Show: 2:15-2:35pm for 5th grade - 8th grade

Expectations for Guests: if you come for the first show, please do not take your students home after the assembly.  They need to return to class with their teacher.
If you come for the second show, dismissal will run as usual, and students will return to class with their teacher to pack up. If you want to drive them home with you, please use their number in the walk-up line starting at 2:45pm, and if they usually ride the bus, please inform Jen to take them off the bus. Events at the end of the day, such as Jog-a-Thon, field trips, etc., can put a lot of strain on the office staff who want to make sure every student gets home safely, so that is why these expectations are in place.  谢谢  Xièxiè!

Here are some videos of the Oregon Chinese Coalition to get you excited!

I hope to see everyone in red on Monday and I hope you have a lovely New Years weekend!
